Try A Little Tenderness is a beautiful mural in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Cleveland Walls Project
In August 2021, a festival called The Cleveland Walls added 19 new pieces of public art to the MidTown neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio.
Local and national artists were invited to be a part of this large project. The bright splashes of color really brightened up the sides of many buildings!
The Location of Try A Little Tenderness
The headquarters of HausMalts, a craft malting facility which provides grains to breweries & distilleries, was selected as one of the buildings to have a mural painted on it.
This building is located on the north side of Carnegie Avenue, just east of the railroad bridge at E. 55th Street.
The Artist
Miami Florida artist, Tatiana Suarez, was inspired by the lyrics of an Otis Redding song, Try A Little Tenderness, and created this beautiful mural. It is meant to be a powerful message of how music and art brings people of all colors together.
It took the artist one day to outline her mural. She worked alone, in 90 degree heat and humidity, with only an umbrella to provide shade.
All week a steady stream of visitors stopped by to admire her work and snap pictures!
The Inspiration for Try A Little Tenderness
Tatiana’s medium is spray paint, and she used dozens of them for this project! When asked about the lyrics she chose, she stated that the last 18 months had been so hard on many people due to the global pandemic, civil unrest, and politics. Tatiana wanted to remind everyone of what is important!
She also added in a few unique touches, as a nod to Ohio. The artist included the cardinal, which is the state bird and the carnations, which is the state flower.

It took six days to complete her mural.
When you drive down the streets of Cleveland and see this stunning mural, you have to stop and take a picture!!
