Bear Mountain View
We recently had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Bear Mountain View Airbnb in Wells, Vermont, and it was amazing!
Located on Bear Mountain, this quaint farmhouse was more than we could have hoped for! And since I’m farm/barn obsessed, it was perfect for me!
Located on a beautiful mountain road, we arrived early evening. As we drove up the driveway, I immediately noticed the motorcycles in the garage, and knew we were in the right place!
Our gracious hosts, Ken and Laurie, were in the driveway waiting to welcome us to their home. A beautiful farmhouse, with beautiful land, barns, a garage with room for our bikes, a rooster and chickens, and dogs! What a wonderful start to our stay!
The home is set up great, with two bedrooms and a private bath for guests and use of the kitchen and living room. The big farmers porch on the front was great for eating breakfast and relaxing at night to talk about our day with our friendly hosts! Ken made and served us an amazing breakfast with farm fresh eggs, and it was delicious! Ken is a great cook!
Land and Animals
Their land is beautiful and at one time had many farm animals, including horses, cows, and pigs. Today they have a rooster named Henry, and several chickens, which Henry keeps very good track of, and two beautiful dogs, Ruby and Timber!! The dogs are very friendly and love people. I enjoyed watching Henry chase the chicks around and keeping them in line!
There are a few barns on the property and Ken was more than happy to give us a tour. The barns are beautiful and the yard, which I might add is huge, has a lot of stone walls and a fireplace built by Laurie. There is also plenty more land for their future plans! There are also many beautiful flower gardens all around the property!
This beautiful home is in a very scenic area of Vermont. Located between Rutland, Manchester, and Glen Falls NY. It is very close to Lake St. Catherine and a few minutes to the Deane Preserve Biking and Hiking Trails.
We had a great dinner at The Barn Restaurant in Pawlet VT, which Ken and Laurie recommended! It was an old rustic barn and the night that we were there they had a group of 5 musicians playing. It was great food and great entertainment!
